We are working with a leading London Market Insurer for a Technical Accountant & Credit Controller role (Reinsurance). This role is focused on the Credit Control function of the reinsurance arm liaising with a range of teams to ensure collections and recoveries. The core responsibilities of this role include: • Responsibility for the Credit Control and collection of all Outwards reinsurance recoveries, along with settlement of any premiums due to brokers and reinsurers. • Chase for receipt of outstanding reinsurance recoveries in line with internal targets and best practice. Liaise with the appropriate internal departments and external parties in order to achieve this. • Maintain a detailed summary of the reinsurance ledger at transaction level utilising Core Systems to do so and create various reports to actively monitor the account. • Analyse reinsurance collection documents, slips, endorsements and other contractual information as required. • Ensure LORS and broker statements (or their equivalent) are received, reconciled, reviewed where necessary and accurately processed. Liaise with the Reinsurance team, Brokers and Velonetic to efficiently resolve any queries which arise, arranging settlement of monies and allocate cash in accordance with contractual terms, internal targets and quarterly deadlines. • Provide reports, analysis and commentary which will form part of the team’s quarterly reporting presentation pack to senior management. The successful candidate will have: • Possess a sound knowledge of insurance. Experience of working in the London Market is required. • Have strong credit control experience and a proven record of ensuring that funds are received, reconciled and allocated on a timely basis. • Be capable of interpreting and analysing contract language & collection documents in order to collect reinsurance recoveries efficiently. • Have experience of effectively managing and manipulating high volumes of data and the ability to create concise, accurate reporting.
