Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
People Management:
• To lead, manage and support the Technical Assistants, Data Quality Coordinator, Management Information Lead and Bordereaux Technicians
• To complete mid-year check-ins and end of year appraisals for all direct reports
• Ensures that the findings/ results from Operational Performance, Exception and Other Reporting are analysed, with a view to identifying and communicating/ escalating identified root causes.
Tasks:
• Produce team status/updates (verbal or written) to the Operations Manager
• Ensures that Operations procedures are created, completed and maintained as necessary, e.g. in accordance with applicable deadlines from Compliance for annual reviews
• Responsible for tracking, monitoring and controlling the workload within the team
• Accountable for all documentation required to be present in the DMS system for their direct reports
• Responsible for monitoring and challenging the Visual Management Board and KPI outputs with their team to resolve any challenges and recognise successes
• System “super user” for our core underwriting systems and understand current and future system functionality
• Ad-hoc and general administration duties as and when required
Continuous Improvements:
• To align to our operating principles and to participate or instigate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as quick wins, root cause problem solving
The Ideal candidate should have:
• Strong knowledge of underwriting process
• Strong understanding and knowledge to explain to UTS staff the expectations that the business will have of their work
• Detailed experience in the insurance industry, specifically underwriting, with experienced knowledge of the Lloyds market,
• Experience within a relevant operational role
• Degree or equivalent is desirable
