A growing and dynamic specialty insurance group is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to support the Group Finance Director in leading finance operations across its UK and international entities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key projects, including data quality improvement, M&A integration, and corporate restructuring. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the monthly financial statement close process across multiple entities and currencies while strengthening financial processes and controls to support the business's expansion. The company is undergoing significant growth, both organically and through acquisitions, requiring collaboration on onboarding and integrating new businesses into the group. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the consolidated month-end close process Support the integration of newly acquired businesses and align them with group standards Assist in business combination and acquisition accounting Produce timely and high-quality financial reports for senior leadership Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts Oversee treasury and cash management functions Refine intercompany recharging and transfer pricing processes Manage quarterly and annual tax computations with external advisors Assist with year-end audits and external reporting requirements Oversee financial system administration (SUN) Conduct financial analysis, including intercompany balances, FX exposure, and private equity reporting Lead and develop a team of finance professionals Candidate Profile: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), preferably with experience in the insurance or MGA/Broker sector Proven track record in managing month-end close and financial reporting processes Strong technical knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements Experience with high-volume data manipulation and financial systems (Excel, SUN, etc.) Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Capable of working both independently and within a team environment This role is ideal for an ambitious finance professional looking to enhance their leadership skills and gain exposure to a fast-growing and evolving business.
