Edenbrook are working with a Workplace Pension provider on a Financial Reporting Accountant opportunity. As the Financial Reporting Accountant, you will assist with preparing annual reports and financial statements for Group entities, including pension schemes and a charity, and the Group consolidation in accordance with the timetable and accounting standards.
Key duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with and prepare annual reports and financial statements for Group entities in accordance with relevant accounting principles and policies and all legal and regulatory requirements
• Help ensure all year end schedules, analyses and statutory notes are prepared in readiness for year-end audit and liaise with external auditors
• Review the monthly and quarterly accounting reports and reconciliations for Group entities ensuring full analysis and validation of balances and that financial entries are consistent with accounting and regulatory requirements
• Assist with and prepare annual and quarterly regulatory returns for Group entities in accordance with all regulatory requirements
• Contribute to changes in the financial accounting cycle to improve the speed and method of production and improve the quality of accounting reports
• Contribute to monthly Performance Report ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data and analysis
• Maintain up to date and forward-looking knowledge of financial reporting regulations and assist with implementation of new accounting standards
• Contribute from a finance perspective to projects relating to structure or reporting for corporate, fiscal, pension or other products
• Support the finance department to ensure accuracy of all accounts and a good control environment
• Undertake ad hoc duties as directed and agreed with Finance Controller
• Establish excellent working relationships with all colleagues and stakeholders
• Actively seek appropriate opportunities to develop self within role and the business
• Adhere to Company Risk Management policy and procedures, including reporting of incidents or breaches.
• Apply and promote Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) culture and principles, together with the organisation’s behaviours and values.

The ideal candidate:
Essential
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
• Advanced Excel and Word Skills
• Experience in preparation of financial statements
• Balance sheet control / reconciliation / review experience
• Numerate and analytical with good attention to detail
Desirable
• Experience with FRS 102, Pensions SORP
• Financial services experience – insurance, pension funds, investment management, solvency II, financial management
• Degree level education
