As the Finance Manager, you will lead the month-end process, including creating the monthly balance sheet pack, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and monitoring the progress of associated actions. You will be accountable for the following areas: • Preparation of annual statutory accounts while liaising with company auditors to facilitate and monitor responses to the audit plan and providing input into the Group Annual Report and Accounts and Interim Statement • Support the Financial Controller in the maintenance of a robust control environment and the enhancement and testing of the financial control framework • Become the lead contact for external audit and facilitate the provision of information as required • Contribute to the production of regulatory reporting, including RMAR and others as required • Support with the preparation of accounting memos and different internal and external papers including Audit Committee, Executive Committee and Board papers throughout the year where relevant. • Build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including colleagues across finance, internal and external audit. • Show curiosity to continually review and improve the control and process environment of the business • Provide adhoc support as required • Support system development, implementation and change to deliver process improvement and enhanced management reporting • Coach and develop other team members The Ideal Candidate • Will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA-qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in the Insurance industry. • Line management experience and coaching and mentoring skills • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, managing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation • Experience and competence in external financial reporting, including preparation of statutory accounts
